89 Firebird Resto

Started the body resto on my wifes origional (she bought it new off the truck) 1 owner 89 sport package. It has 60,xxx miles and was garage kept and seasonally driven for all it's life but for 2 years that it sat covered behing our garage. There is absolutely no rust what so ever on this car. The underside was cleaner and shined better than the top when we pulled it in!

The day we pulled it in - Sitting on blocks...

Removed all the soft parts and sent them out for soda blasting and sanded the body down to the metal.

guide coat sprayed, ready for blocking out

Her new wheels are in the Snowflake thread.
More to come as we progress. Enjoy!

Re: 89 Firebird Resto

No, Shelby is not her name I have one in the garage, she likes it too - what's not to like about 600 wheel HP?.
She, on the other hand, is the origional owner of the F-Bird currently undergoing the resto.
