Rear Quarter Panels and TBI-TPI switch?
Hello, I'm new to the site and i looked around but i couldn't find any places that answered either of my questions.
I was wondering where i could find replacement rear quarter panels and Inner wheel wells (I just bought my 88 Formula and their rusted out)
Also i have the 170 HP l03 TBI engine right now and i was wondering if i could just switch over the intake manifold to make it into a 230 HP TPI.

well u can either go to a junk yard for the quarters or go to jc whitney online and find them or a bunch of other sheet metal suppliers.. as for the tpi u will need the tpi harness and intake setup.. n possibly a different pully setup not totally sure but i think the intake ports on the heads are the same.. but maybe someone on here will be able to clear that up.. i have a bunch of parts for sale for a trans am that will fit ur firebird.. and i also have a complete tpi set up that was sand blasted and heat painted red and black if ur interested the only thing i dont have is the fuel rails and harness

Where are you located and how much would you want for the quarter panels if their rust free? Also do you have Inner wheel wells to match? mine are rotted
As for the tbi to tpi, does anyone know anybody whose done something like this in the past? Perhaps with a few pointers on how to do it?

That's all you get with new panels is the skin. Some panels, most of the time called patch panels, won't have as much panel as factory. Usually enough of a panel to repair most rust. The other piece you are looking for is actually called an outer wheelhouse. The inner is the inside part of the wheelhouse. I didn't know there was an aftermarket quarter available for third gens. Usually their quality isn't the best but it's better than a rusty panel. Good luck.
