Window Up Limit?

I thought for the longest time that my T-tops were leaking and needed new weatherstripping. I have a problem of my windows pinching/rolling the weatherstripping at a couple of spots on the "A" frame allowing water to come in. I've been trying to figure this out and think I've come to a conclusion. I believe the windows are coming up too far. This then has caused them to pinch the weatherstripping at the "A" frame. The windows are coming up past the triangle piece at the front edge and pushing up the rubber strip about 1/4". Is the window only supposed to come up even with this piece? When I lower the window to where it's even and then close the door it doesn't pince the "A" frame weatherstripping anymore but it no longer seals along the top edge of window now. I think the window coming up too far has pushed my weatherstripping in too far no longer allowing it to seal. Thoughts? Thanks.

There are adjustable stops inside - you have to remove the door panel, and you'll see them in the tracks - think they take a 10mm socket.

Okay thanks. So as far as you know, the window should only be coming up even with that triangle piece on the front of the door where the mirror mounts?

Re: Window Up Limit?

Take off the door panel and find the stops. Newbie is right, they're 10 mm. Roll down the window, shut the door, roll the window up just enough to touch the strips then set the stops there for a starting point. A little fine tuning should get the window where you need it. There may be a more detailed guide in the tech section.

What they said, + there are a lot more adjusting points that u will find to adjust everything on the window..angle and such...but dont break it....and u dont want to go to high or the door wont shut nice and / or break the glass too !!!!!!

Re: Window Up Limit?

Every 3rd gen (and even my 4th gen which at the time was only 2 years old) with the window rolled up has seemed to stretch the those triangle pieces you talk about so I guess I wouldn't adjust them yet since this is the first time I have heard of this getting out of adjustment. I would try to find where the leak is coming from and go from there my guess would be it is your weather stripping that is bad.
