Key Cylinder/Steering Column

Hey,
I was wondering if the top part of steering columns are swappable.
The key cylinder was ripped out in a theft attempt.

My question is, can i buy a replacement part for the cover,
or do i have to get a new steering column?

Holy crap! Well, IIRC that is part of the column housing itself. You are probably going to need a new column. I would use the old one as a suppository on the person who tried to steal your car.

Yea tell me about it.
Well now comes question 2.
What steering columns will fit. I found a 88-89 & 90-92 with VATS box and the key with both.
Same price. But i want to go with the 90-92 just because lol.

I am not sure if the 90 - 92 columns will fit, especially the last two years where alot of things were different. I call the 91's and 92's third and a half gens.

The column in my car is not the original. It has written on the bottom, "88 firebird" so I believe you are good to go.
