Rustproofing!
If i buy the truck undercoating, how would this work? I was thinking about stipping my entire car before i paint it and use the truck undercoating for the entire car floorpan, engine bay, and for the bottom of the car. How well would would that protect the car? Of course I would put the interior back in the car, but i would put the under coat on the floorpan.

Don't buy any cheap stuff or the kind in a spray can. Any decent paint it would be better. Buying some really high quality bedliner from a paint shop or something might be a good way to go.

Re: Rustproofing!
You don't really want to remove all of the old paint if you can help it. It will adhere better to bare metal than anything you'll use. Aerosal undercoating is fine, if it's good quality brand, 3M even makes some in the rattle can. Works great.
Just keep in mind if you use this on the inside of your car that it can give off fumes when heated by the exhaust.

Re: Rustproofing!
Has anyone used the Krylon "Rust Tough" Rattle cans?
I've had good luck with their products before. Saw those at the
parts store, they want like 6 dollars a can. Generic is 3.
Might be another option for paint jobs before you spring for a real one.

Re: Rustproofing!
I dunno about that truck under coating stuff. I had a 74 Nova and the PO put that stuff on. It had several deep cracks in it that were harboring moisture. What I did to the floor pans on my camaro is grind the surface rust off, scuff the paint a little, three coats of rust bullet (only need two but I wanted to be on the safe side), and then two coats of matte black body paint. Did that about a year ago and still looks great.
