first post on this site and im ready to start my project!!!
Hey guys i have an 83 z28 and theres a few things i want to change on it. First off the ground effect on the car are in good shape but i like the 85-92 style front bumper and side skirts. Just wondering if they would bolt right up or if i will need to get a who front cap to change them. Also the rear tail lights are starting to get spider web cracks in them. I want to also change them to the 85-92 style with the ckecker board kind of pattern. Ive had the car since im 16 and now almost 10 years later i want to get it right. Thanks for your time guys/gals hope to get some responses!!!

Welcome to the site. I started looking at this site when I started my project and it really is helpful. I believe the front bumper will have to be changed to accept different gfx. Gfx are part of rear bumper so it may have to be changed as well. I guess you mean the side skirts with the holes in the rear, they should bolt right up. May have to make holes in mounting points but wouldn't be noticable untill you took them back off. I got a set of taillights from RCAR7395 on here. Good price, good parts, and he's got the grids.

Hi. New here too but not to third gens. First, pick which set of GFX you would like 85/90 or 91/92 "aero" style. Yes the front and rear bumper will have to be changed. I believe that the 85/92 fronts are the same as far as mounting you will just have to change the front lip spoiler to the 85/90 or 91/92 style. The rear bumper is as White Gold had said, its part of the package and has to be changed as a whole. As for the side skirts and quarter panel extensions they should bolt up just fine, except for an additional hole in the front fender will have to be drilled for the side skirt. Imho, go with the grids as well.

Just my opinion but they early style were made of fiberglass as far as the side skirts. They don't warp like the newer urethane seem to. But they do look better. I like the vents cut in the rear but I wanted to keep my car "clean" so to speak. And yes go with the grids.

I say stay with the '82-'84 GFX. Their unique in the fact that you almost NEVER see them. They look bettern then the '91-'92 GFX IMO. I do agree with switching over to the grid style tails.
