metal headlight housing thing

Axle/Gears: 3.23(?), 3.42
metal headlight housing thing

That stupid piece of metal with the adjusting screws in it, that holds the sealed headlight unit in the bracket that holds both headlights on a camaro, what is the name of this stupid part and or where can I find one?????...been looking online for like an hour. Mine are badly rusted, and need replaced...but to do it I need to find replacements.....

Are you asking about the headlight trim ring? If so, The rings might still be available brand new from the GM parts dealer ( I bought two new ones not long ago) or you might be able to find a good enough ring or assembly if you need that too from a wrecking yard. Also, on this site there's always somebody parting a car so might try or look in the classified on this site..

I want new...and its not the stupid ring I need, those are in relatively decent shape, that if I have to, I can clean them up and paint them, its the piece the retaining ring screws into that I need, because that thing is absolute crap, made more of rust than metal.

80s model chevy trucks used the exact same headlights and metal brackets. Might be easier to find some of those at a scrapyard. If you can't find new you might find some real good ones on a truck.

I'm just amazed that such a part would be this hard to find, it can't possibly be uncommon for the things to rust out like mine did...
