Formula project paint questions
First of all, what a awsome forum, tons of info, OK, I am taking my time on this az rust free 87 formula 350, am somewhat a greenhorn but am patient, couple questions is I plan on doing a base/clear, can I base/clear parts individually throughout a few months and will it match up? What does colorsanding actually do? Should I install decals over base and clear over them? Still looking for a stock color code. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Formula project paint questions
You can part paint. I prefer to do metallic paint jobs all at one time but it can be done if you can copy your settings and conditions. If you are green, it would be better to do it in parts rather than rushing with the whole thing and screwing it up.
Color sanding is sanding the final top coat with very fine paper (1500) to smooth the orange peal then buffing the scratches the paper left, out. Usually at least two compounds.
These are all skills that are more of an art that can take years to master. The people that have these skills make good money. This is why a great paint job cost's so much. If you are patient you can learn but expect to re do some stuff and that cost's money for the materials. Good Luck!
