differences in rear "aero" kit on 82-84 and '85-90 T/A

I'm wanting to make cutouts in the rear bumper for some exhaust tips, but I don't want to ruin the "aero" lips on the Daytona rear bumper. I was wondering if the '85-90 T/A rear bumper's molded "aero" lip is close enough to match up with the rest of my '83 aero kit. I wouldn't feel bad about hacking up one of those bumpers, as they are a dime a dozen. Thanks!

The ground effects on the 85-90 model are taller than an 84, ie they go further up on the body, so it probably wouldnt match up that well, though I have never tried it.
