Glass/Carbon Iroc style hoods
I have a company here that my be interested in making glass and carbon Iroc hoods. They need to know how much interest these hoods will carry to determine if it will be worth their time to manufacture them. Product description is as follows.
-Lift off design, if you want hinged you will have to make fabricate your own setup.
-These hoods are factory style on outside appearance, no cowl.
-Underside bracing will be determined as they are manufactured.
-No holes for louvers or blisters u will have to drill your own, also no raised "bubbles" at louver/blister mounting points, will be flush.
-Material is your choice carbon or glass.
-Carbon hoods will be full carbon fiber no glass core.
Pricing has not been determined yet. That will follow if they decide to go through with making these or not. Their decision will be based on the market that they are guaranteed to have. To get this to go through I am going to need at least 12 people who are guaranteed to buy. So please let me know so that i can get a count. If you have no intention of purchasing one of these hoods or are unsure do not say that you are going to. These hoods are going to be made to order starting with the first 12 so payment will have to be made up front.
Really hope to get this going. I'm sure there are plenty of us out there that want a factory appearing hood, but want the weight savings of glass or carbon.

It's kind of hard to gauge interest in these when you don't have a price or even a ball park price. I would never commit to something like this since it may cost $1000 or more before shipping. Also if I'm not mistaken doesn't someone already make a fiberglass IROC hood I know somebody makes a fiberglass regular hood. So good luck with this but until you work out some details (price, how well it fits, customer service) I think it will be tough to sell a hood that nobody has ever seen or can see before they throw out the cash.

Will try to have some rough pricing worked out by the middle to end of the week if all goes good. Will also try to get some images of their finished work. They do make products for several NHRA and IHRA teams. The name of the company is Kirkman Composites.

I am 90% sure I'll buy one, but would like to see pictures of their previous work before I bump it up to 100%.

Did you get a chance to talk to Kirkman Composites about prices and pictures? I tried searching, but couldn't find any decent pictures of their work.
