rear bumper help

i was just wondering if a bumper cover off of a 1990 firebird would fit on my 91 firebird?. Also i plan on taking the ground effects off my car for a cleaner look, and it looks to me like the 1991 bumper cover extends a little bit further to cover up the bumper of the bottom of the car but im not really sure. Is there anyone else that has taken the bumper cover of their 91 or 92 firebird/ trans am?

Re: rear bumper help

well if you take the ground effects off, it would work, not much different style and mounts are the same, is it a regular bird bumper or a t/a bumper though, that may depend on how well it will match up with the body lines

Re: rear bumper help

I did a swap on my 92 firebird to 87 T/A front and rear bumpers with the side ground effects. The front and rear bumpers went on easy the side parts needed new holes drilled for the brackets.I took my time and measured twice and drilled once.It came out perfect and covered the original holes.

If you only want the 1990 bumper on the front it will look strange with the 91/92 ground effects. If you remove the 91/92 ground effects you are then stuck with the holes for the brackets.

Re: rear bumper help

i was only going to do the back bumper because thats the only one i need. and i really like the look of the black inserts in them.the front bumper will be a stock 91 firebird piece. But i would like to remove all the ground effects and fill them with welds.
