Leaving my iroc for awhile

Hi all well i had a few questions for you. Im in the Army and just got my orders to spend some time in Italy and most likely it'll be for at least a year or two. K so i just recently dropped 3 grand to have a guy do all my body work and paint the car and i pick it up when i come home for leave at the tail end of march then i leave in two weeks. So my big question is what should i do to prep the car for longterm storage its gonna be in a garage and under a cover. What else should i do? any advice would be much appreciated

thanks jeremy

Re: Leaving my iroc for awhile

Make sure the coolant is in good shape, do a fresh oil change (synthetic preferably), add Sta-Bil to your gas and try to make sure you run some through the system (by driving or idling a while). Disconnect the battery and, if possible, put it on jack stands.

Give it a nice cleaning too so that it will be ready to go when you get without having to work on it.

Thanks for you service.

Look into a car pod. its kinda like a big zip lock bag you drive your car into and seel. then you can buy big bags of silica to throw in with it to suck up the humidity. the car pods are like 200 and the silica bags are cheap. the pods are made out of tough material and they wont scratch the car. that is about the best way to go.

I'm with Duts87ss

Or bring it over to me--it would be driven ONLY on sunny days, washed weekly, washed & waxed every 2 weeks, garaged when not driven,..

Yes Sir-- Thank You for your service

Yeah. Not sure if there's really anything to it, but it keeps the tires and suspension unloaded. May just be mumbo jumbo.
