Louver Inserts

Looking for a company that makes plastic or fiberglass louver that I can insert into hood and roof.

I don't care about rain. This is a race car.

Goal is to get air out from under hood or kill low pressure area above hood.

Harwood Hood has 4 pins and 10 dzus fasteners and still wants to lift at speeds above 130mph

Also believe these inserted into roof would reduce cabin heat.

Any ideas for a source.

Re: Louver Inserts

You could just get a set of fender louvers for a 78 to 79 Z28 and mount them where you need them. The mid '80's T/A had "evactuators" on the rear of the hood, I think they were functional but you'd have to ask a Firebird guy about that.

Re: Louver Inserts

Headlight covers might help believe it or not, i think it would increase aerodynamics as well, but its occurred to me that at speed those headlight pockets would probably push air up against the hood.

Re: Louver Inserts

Thanks guys!

I will check the junkyard for the factory pieces.

Headlight covers are installed and do help. I'm glad we think alike!
