Back in the game with a 92 z28 z03

I bought a 92Z28 Z03 after a 5 years without a thirdgen.

My Problems is when I try to lift up the hood on this car its rubs against the drivers side fender and kind of sags. Then with a little more force its lifts fine once you get past the rub of the fender. It closes fine without rubbing.

When the hood is closed it has good space and it looks like it should clear but it just doesn't.

I tried to adjust the bolts that hold the hood to the fender but not much luck. Is that what I should be adjusting?

Any body have this problem before or any ideas?

Thanks

could be bad hood struts allowing the hood to sway on its way up, would also explain the sag your talking about.

When the hood is fully up the struts are able to keep the hood up with no problem it is just trying to raise the hood up. I guess the only thing is to replace the struts is that correct?

Thanks

Check the hood hinges, mine did the same thing. I took the hood off, and found there play in the left hinge. Once I replaced it the problem went away.

Can you explain play in hinge? Like worn out? The problem is its hard for me to pull of hood off by myself.

Maybe I can get the hindges and get someone to replace them.

Thanks

you may also want to try just oiling the hinges. sounds like one might just be sticking.
