Any suggestions?
So my GTA has been sitting for a while. I parked it after I hit an object in the road at 65 mph. Whatever it was totally pinched my Y-pipe totally shut. It also blew a hole in the bell housing of my trans. Not to mention a week before that someone hit her out front of my house and took off causing the dent behind the drivers door. So i wanna start putting some money into her and get her back on the road. I wanna know what you guys suggest on the body work that is needed. Can the dent behind the drivers door be repaired by pulling the dent out and using putty or am I better off having it cut out and replaced? How about the hood? Is it repairable? There are a couple of other small spots of surface rust on the body that I think can be cleaned up with no problem. BTW the floor boards are virtually rust free and the car only has 89,897 original miles and runs like a champ.

Thats a bad spot to have a dent like that....I just put a whole new quarter panel on my car for a simaler dent. But, my car was worse then that and had also been hit in the wheel well area. You will probably have problems with that door gap and getting it to shut right.

if it were my car i would at least make an attempt to straighten it.. ifyou spend a few hours on a saturday messing with it then you should have an idea if it's going to work out or not. if it looks promising then keep going.. if it looks like a lost cause then you are only out a little bit of time. i would personally start with the jamb area that is pushed out. if you can get the quarter pushed back out where it meets the door then you should be ok.

Thanks guys I was hoping that someone would say its posibly repairable. I will be starting it this weekend and let you guys know how its going. The door actually closes with no problem now. I'll get some pics up of my progress and see what everyone thinks. Thanks for your input. How about the hood, is it worth saving or beyond repair?
