I have the lexan ones on mine as well. I prefer them over the glass because of the lighter weight. It makes them easier to take off/put on. I don't have to worry about my wife dropping them.
As for scratch removal, you can wetsand them with regular old wet/dry automotive sandpaper. Start with 600-800 depending on the depth of the scratches and work your way up to 2000. Follow that up with a plastic polish and you can bring them back to a nice shine. Thats for the outside of the tops. The inside is not quite as easy to do because of the tinting and the black stuff on the edges. There are a few threads on here about restoring T-tops.

i have not had a car with LEXAN "T" tops . i have had 1 with glass . the glass are very hard to fix/get rid scratches . as a ret. acft. mech. i have delt with lexan windows/windsheilds . the lexan can be polished out to look like new . if done right no problems with distortion , not a factor on "T" tops . anyway LEXAN is good & lighter . just take care of them , most plastic polish ( meguirs , mothers ) are great with a small hand buffer . good luck .

By the way, would you happen to know why my t tops appear specklie looking from the inside? They are a dark smoke color. I would like to rub out any scratches that may appear on the inside as well. Is the color in the lexan, or did the factory or somebody else use film?

The 'speckled' look is actually the Lexan cracking from heat - it tends to look like a windshield that was broken but the pieces didn't fall out (little squares).
And that is the reason I replaced my Lexan tops in my 1992 with glass ones. Although scratches may not be as easily removed in the glass tops, and they may be heavier, a good-looking pair of glass tops is just much nicer than the Lexan 'speckles' in my opinion.

Yes, they were. Like I said, I replaced them with the glass ones now.

Re: T tops, Plexi or glass which is better?
I have the Lexan version in my 91 and they too have the heat cracks. The weight difference is so small that I can't see it making the decision on which to go with. The glass look way better and eventually I will be changing over to glass.
One big advantage I have found though is the Lexan do stay much cooler in direct sunlight.

There are T-Top shades as well - they go inside, and block out the t-top - they are fabric covered.

Re: T tops, Plexi or glass which is better?
The static cling tint won't stick, but the good glue-on stuff should. Just make sure they are VERY clean. As for the polish, any good plastic polish can be used by hand, it just takes longer. My Lexan tops are heat-checked as well. Its a very common problem with them. The only fix I know of is to replace them.
