Re: What is the most ghetto thing you've found done to your car?
Beleive it or not my first car was an 84 z28 305 ho automatic. The screwball before me decided to remove some of the ducting off the manifolds. I was 16 at the time so i dont remember exactly what was removed but they plugged up one of the lines with a potato chip bag, a metal hose clamp and a splinter of wood...apparently the hose clamp didnt get tight enough. Amsome car black and gold with the orange CAMARO CAMARO CAMARO interiour. wish i woulda kept it, sold it and the moron ran it into a tree three weeks later.

I've seen worse. Man, I wish I still had that pic... Most of you guys would puke as I almost did the first time.
Imagine the interior of a Bird (IIRC, could have been a Camaro, but I'm pretty sure on this), covered in felt and cushy pillowy stuff, mostly purple and red. I seem to recall the dash pad being sort of a red quilt... Then, to top it off, the person who did this installed a 7" screen right in the middle of their STEERING WHEEL. And that's describing it mildly. Believe me, this interior was WAY too weird/ghetto to make up.
I'll have to see if I can find it... I'm sure it's still being passed around the internet somewhere for it's ugliness.

. Same here too. I grew up in a trailer park but now, I got my 4 bedroom apartment with my wife and 3 kids. Im not hating though. Thats why I put no comment because I once was trailer park material.
P.S. The trailer Park I lived in was very nice.

Re: What is the most ghetto thing you've found done to your car?
Well, when I bought my 87 Trans Am, it had obviously been involved in a front end collision, and it had only one tiny little aftermarket fan to keep the radiator cool, hooked up to an aftermarket fan relay which made a big mess of wires where they didn't need to be. The car overheated when my dad was driving it before I even got my license, and the mechanic they took it to put another tiny fan on the radiator, and the same little fan relay was so cheap that it wouldn't work most of the time so it still overheated.
I know this is ghetto rigged itself, but I think it's at least better than all that extra crap:
I pulled out all the aftermarket stuff and put in an original fan, and hooked up the original fan relay, but the fan relay wasn't getting switched on, so I just added a constant ground on it and it runs the entire time the ignition switch is on.
At least I got rid of all those senseless wires just kinda hanging around under the hood, and it actually stays cool now.

haha its no worries man, just sometimes the stabs at trailer parks kinda hurt lol, especially when no matter how good your thirdgen looks people will still refer to it as a hillbilly trailer park queen(which i guess would suite mine, but still there are rock stars that own thirdgens lol)

Re: What is the most ghetto thing you've found done to your car?
Most ghetto thing ive ever done was when I fixed the power locks that were not working all the way. I pulled out the button on the passenger side and the blue wire fell out of the housing (I think the previouse owner was messing around with them). So I shoved it in there (couldn't solder it back on not enough space and I didn't want to ruin the entire housing.) made a spacer out of rubber to hold it in (like a cork) and then proceeded to put epoxy putty over the rest of the setup to hold the wire and rubber in. Hopefully it holds for a while until I can get a replacement.

Re: What is the most ghetto thing you've found done to your car?
Found a ghetto repair done on my car when I was tearing it apart last night. I should really take a picture of it. I'm pulling the entire front end off the car and taking out the engine, last night I was removing the wiring harness. There was a seam I could see that was welded on the passenger side inner fender from the seam around the top where the strut bolts down to the flat frame-looking part (don't know what to call it since it really isn't a frame!). It was about 3 inches long more towards the back/firewall area. I pulled off the plastic fender liner and started pulling the wires through that area and the wire loom kept catching on something. Upon further investigation and scraping with a screwdriver, I found the backside of the wheel well had been replaced at some point and whoever "fixed" it did a nice hack job. Instead of welding a seam they just welded the layer on top and left a 2" flap hanging in the wheel well and sprayed a ton of undercoating on it to hide it.
Almost everything is out of the car at this point and so far this is the only "surprise" I've found, so I guess I'll consider myself lucky!

Re: What is the most ghetto thing you've found done to your car?
A friends uncle owned this old beat up pontiac something. We went for a ride in it one day and I kept seeing him lean forward and grab something every time we'd stop. So I started paying attention to what he was doing and noticed he'd rigged some wires up around the shifter.
Apparently the brake light switch didn't work so he had a piece of tin foil he'd manually touch a wire to so that the brake lights would come on. So every time he'd slow down he'd touch the tin foil so the lights would come on and we wouldn't get rear ended. LOL

Well,
right now my drivers side lock doesn't work, and I don't have a key for my passenger side....so I haven't had the time to replace the lock....
I've been crawling through the trunk, to get to the drivers seat and open my door. Ghetto as ****...

i got a new one, but its really old cuz its been like this for about a year now, and its half my fault its like it is now and half the person who d1cked me
when i was still living in waldorf somebody decided it would be funny to "Tag" my driver side 1/4 panel,
so what was my way of covering it up? go buy a 97 cent can of Cheapo Wal-mart spray black and Spray my whole quarter panel, so now my car has looked like the quarter panel is in primer/really dull black for about a year now
luckily my car is getting painted in about a month or two

also figured id add this, i was replacing the rear sway bar endlink bushings and found that someone had replaced the right rear shock with a performace shock, and left all 3 of the others stock, oh and found a little led underglow light attached to my front left A-arm, supposed to light up in the wind, just one, this kid was trying to be "cool" like all the ricers out there with there damn underglow, by adding one led underglow to the front... im guessing anyways

i thought at the time my car would be painted within the next two months so i just sprayed it and left it, now its getting ready to go to paint so im happy lol
if your asking if it had ronals on it in the vid, i have no idea
if you are asking if he was selling it with ronals on it, then i think he had a set of either iroc's/ or rally's (dont remember which) but he cleaned them up really nice and put them on for the sale

Ok Guys, I think I got ghetto... Went to look at a 79 ta for parts for my project in the wings. PO must have been an 'artist'. Imagine, pouring 50 lbs. of bondo on the hood and SCULPTING the screaming chicken. Then there were the rear fenders which were SCULPTED with wings, feathers and all from the doors all the way to the tailights. Then, there was the Pep Boys double-bubble sunroof held in with sheetmetal screws and bondo, the home-made door panels out of 1/4 luan plywood (unstained, or sanded) the deep pile **** carpeting that was sheetmetal screwed EVERYWHERE. Then we moved under the hood, which weighed about 200 lbs. The shaker was one of the bolted to the hood models, but PO had cut it away, and had another piece of luan plywood for an air cleaner, top and bottom. The guy wanted $750 for it. After holding in my laughter till I got back to my truck, I split my sides, headed home to get my camera. By the time I got back the next day, someone had already bought it, AND DROVE IT HOME. Wish I had had a phone camera back then....

If I could only have taken some pictures of it... The guy who had it was a member of the Tarheel Tigers pontiac club. I've lost touch with him since then, but maybe he has a picture of it I can chase up. When he advertised it in the paper it was under the title of "Locally Famous Trans Am". Whuda thunkit? He got the thing off of Ebay.

When I got my 89 rs it had an exhaust rattle so bad it was embarrasing to even drive. I took it to my exhaust man he thought the cat was causing it even though it looked brand new. He cut into it and threw me a goodwrench 9/16 endwrench that was inside the cat.

Doesn't sound like he was thinking about putting all of his tools away, did it?

The funny thing is the car has been in my family since it was just a couple of years old. My aunt originally bought it she sold it to my uncle and he sold it to my cousin. I always tried to get him to sell it to me he wouldn't. It was broke down in his possesion for two or three years. He traded it out of the family that guy had it for just a couple of weeks then I traded a dodge ramcharger with a 8 inch skyjacker suspension lift sittin on 37 inch superswamper tsl boggers for it not even knowing it was the same car. I hooked up two wires they already had ran put in a new battery and it fired right up for the first time in a few years. If you ever want to drive someone crazy this will work !!!!!
