camaro wing on a firebird
my car has a camaro wing on it, and the way it is right now, I don't like it. I don't know if it would look better once the car is painted or if it will still look drastically out of place. anybody else seen one on a bird before? did it look ok, or did it look weird?
I know the bodies are pretty much the same, especially in the back, maybe its just a psychological thing about seeing camaro fiberglass and bird tail lights

thanks deadbird, my wife thought that looked good, then again, she thinks it looks good on mine too :P
I think I'm going to pull it off and sell it and get something else.

Re: camaro wing on a firebird
It doesn't bother me at all that its a camaro part on a firebird. I'll try to explain why it doesn't match perfectly or looks slightly out of place.
The reason it doesn't look perfect is because the rear quarter panels stick more outward than the camaro's. The bottom edge of the spoiler isn't flush with the rear quarter panel or the camaro spoiler looks like it should be stretched horizontally. Its up to you whether you can tolerate it not perfectly matching the car or not. If still not a clear picture, compare to a picture of a camaro with the spoiler

one of these days I'll pull it off and either sell it, or trade it for a different wing.
oh and Tony, its going to be green :] The interior will be changed to all black, and the wheels will get changed from gold to black

I like the look of the wraparound style wing much better.
I guess I'll put it on craigslist and see if I get any nibbles. if it doesn't go, I'll cut the #@#@ in the middle and widen it. I know I'd have to weld up the current mounting holes, but for it to line up better, it would be worth the welding and fiberglass work. at least to me anyway :P

I'd sell the rims, but only if I got enough out of them to get a set of something else. I've got to have SOMETHING on there, lol. let me know what they are worth to you :] there is a center cap missing by the way

If someday u decide to sell/part out the car look me up .... I have the wrap around wing and I agree they look better on our cars....... Where are you at in N.W. Ohio? In Toledo there are plenty of junk yards where u may find a 3rd gen. spoiler....

I'll never part her out... she's my baby, and WAY too solid to give up on.

I like it.
Besides I contend that the spoiler is a Trans Am spoiler to begin with. The 69 Trans Am's had it first. Camaro just stole it.
