Tail Light Cover or NightShade?

So i plan to black-out my taillights, b/c i'm getting my windows tinted as i speak. I've seen both covers and nightshade jobs done. Looks pretty good either way. But my windows are 2.5% completely illegal i know, but in your opinion should i go with the taillight covers ( around 95 bucks ) or the VHT NightShade? And BTW tagged my car last month for only a year ( Bought it last month also.) Thx guys.

Covers have the advantage of you being able to pull them off right on the spot & the cop POSSIBLY not writing you a ticket. Of course, if they are TOO EASY to pop on & off (like velcro tabs), they can get stolen.

With VHT you can decide just how light/dark you want it to be. Do it light enough & the cop may not even really think twice about it.

I used the VHT stuff for a while, looks horrible after it sees some weather. So I got the covers. Laws vary by state. Not illegal in illinois, as long as you can see the lights at night, under street lights your golden.

gts covers really look sick.....better than vht in my opinion, and as was stated, covers can be removed.

Re: Tail Light Cover or NightShade?

Nightshades lasts just fine if you do it right, thin layers on a clean surface till it's dark enough, 4 coats of clear on top, wetsand with 1500 to get rid of the orange peel and then buff with a good finishing compound.
