Need on advice for stopping leak form firewall!!!

There is a leak that runs down the Driver side kick panel onto the floor board I could not really see where it is coming form, but it deff has been there for years because I had to replace the kick panel and floor board form all the rust. Did not realize it was from the leak.

I know I have seen others with that same rust problem. So I think this is common.

Does anyone know where it is exactly coming from? Any ideas on what to do?

It runs right down at the angle where the kick panel meets the toe board. You can see the little rust at the bottom where is was sitting.

Has the windshield been replaced?

That would be my 1st guess.

I'd yank that windshield out and have a look at the window frame.
Or maybe whoever installed the new windshield...didn't seal it correctly.

I dont know if if it ever has, looks pretty beat, I suspect it may be original.

The front of my headliner(t-top) that meats the windshield is wet also, could that be from the window of the t-top?

If I need a new window I wont be disappointed, its got 2 nicks and cant be cleaned anymore.

You can check for a leaky windshield with a little soapy water and some compressed air. Just wet it down on the outside and blow around the inside. If ya see bubbles you got a leak.

Re: Need on advice for stopping leak form firewall!!!

I'd guess it's starting up there by your t-tops and riding all the way down. The problem might exist within your t-top seals; pull the headliner when you've got some time and drive around when it's raining. You can use a hose, but remember a 20psi blast of water directly at the t-top seal is a little unrealistic compared to common weather, so simulate rain with the hose if necessary.

Also, if you don't have the plastic fender-well sheild, take a flashlight and look behind the fender around the area where the rust would be. If you do have the fender-well sheild, you might need to pull it or the fender to get a clean view. A lot of rust in this area starts because of poor windshield drainage design.

While I'm at it I might as well explain about another check.
Since you have the trim out on the inside and can see when it starts to leak pretty quickly you can start running a garden hose on the car ... start low... and keep an eye on the inside. If it doesn't leak move the running water up a little and look some more. When you get to the level that the leak shows up it helps to narrow down the area of your search.

Yup, agreed with taking the headliner down. If its not the windshield it could be your T tops.
(I didn't know you had T Tops)

Take the drivers side plastic piece off that runs down the pillar.
If its not the windshield...my guess is water is running down there.
That would mean you have to replace the T tops seals and look into why its leaking there.
But a new windshield would be the easy way out. So I hope thats where the leak is coming from.

Yeah I replaced my t-tops seals last year, but they are leaking worse then before, my seat gets wet, and another spot.

But I did not think it could also be causing the leak down the firewall. That would actually be nice because I could just redo the seals and fix all the leaks, but I doubt it.

Éh guys! Are you sure that not come from the fender. I mean the upper of fender. When the shield over the tire not done rigth job, the water come in and follow the chassis and arrived at this place. I have the same problem on my camaro.

So, I say that, but it's possible it's the T-top... but it's really difficult to me to believe that the water can follow all body panel to there...

I can see it rining down from the firewall down the kickpanel, is that what yours was doing? or was it going through the hole?
