Re: painting a car
so there you have it blkfirebird91.
thats the easiest/cheapest method I've ever seen for spraying, and like fyrchkn stated, rolling on paint don't usually work out to well.
fyrchkn, did you use the same technique for the new color change?
and to Stephen, bluegrass? That was TOO FUNNY! HAHAHA!

Actually, I did it a little different. This time I used an HVLP gun. Here is the color change thread on my local site:

I'm going to have to re-do it in a month or two since the weather kinda screwed me this time. If it hadn't been for the weather it would be really, really nice this go round.

What ever you decide to do practice on something first. Have you considered Maaco? I never recommend them for anything but think the product they turn out might be better than what you may do yourself.
And for you guys doing your own paint, with automotive paint you shouldn't wax it for 90 days... longer if it's cold outside. What you're using may be different. The paint needs time to let all the thinners evaporate out before you seal it up with wax. Otherwise you get a pimply mess when the thinner looks for another way out.

looks good but I do like the white better. I've been wondering what color to paint mine but of course I have to get the car itself up to par first, paint is the last thing I'm worried about. I also want to ghost the pheonix on the hood. I'm a tattoo artist and art comes easily so airbrush is my next attempt. Have you seen a guy riding around up there in a grey subaru STI?
Damn good job, I might have to make the 3 hour drive over there to get some help. Ha Ha
