Rusted Floor Board
I have an 90 firebird formula 5 speed. I found out that the drivers side floor board is rusted away (nothing left). But everything else is solid. There is a couple places with surface rust under the doors and a small spot on the front fenderwell. Do you guys think the car is worth fixing for a daily driver?

It all depends on how much money you want to spend.
If you look around or ask, you will find a lot of guys with over 10 grand and some around 20 in their cars. Personally I would.

heck id fix it. Shouldn't be to bad of a fix. A new floor pan and some other rust repairs. If you are willing to put out the cash it can be fixed. Good luck man -Matt

If there is some rust, there is most likely a lot more rust in other places that you haven't found yet. Make sure you find it ALL before you start fixing it. You don't want to fix that damage, then find a ton more that would have made the car not worth fixing to begin with and be out a lot of work and/or $$$.

Hate to say it but take some time to look around for another third gen with a good body. There's some good deals to be had, especially for cars that need mechanical work but otherwise are in good shape. You may even come out ahead selling stuff off and you'll have tons of spare parts.

I agree with Darkshot. Find out exactly what you are dealing with before passing judgement. If its ONLY the drivers side floor and nothing else, then yeah, you can fix it and that's not so bad. There are thousands of 60's muscle cars out there with floorpan repairs, its nothing out of the ordinary. But it you're talking about doing full pans, front to back, rear wheel tubs and quarters, then its time to start thinking about a donor body. Gut the interior, find all the rot, and let us know what you find.

You made me look. Wow. Near $300 for a floor pan from Classic and that's just one side. Makes that rust free roller on sale here for $675 look real good. Even if you have to rent a trailer to bring it back.
