Front Bumper Reinforcement

Does anyone else have a problem on their Camaro with the front bumper (just infront of the hood) bowing in? My bumper looked like it was almost sat on, it caused spider cracks in a circular kinda pattern on each side of the Camaro logo in between the headlights. I saw a photo in a magazine of a Camaro racing, and at the speeds it was at the air was actually pushing the bumper in and it gave it this unintentional ram air scoop under the front lip of the hood.

I don't believe it would be a problem on the firebirds because the Pontiac bumpers look like they slope back at a steeper angle (I dunno, maybe you do though)...

After painting up a new bumper, I'd preffer not to repeat this look. Has anyone ever tried to reinforce the bumper so it doesn't cave in? I was thinking of trying to find styrophome and cutting out pieces to stuff behind the bumper, but I wouldn't even know where to find pieces large enough.

Thanks

Re: Front Bumper Reinforcement

I ran into some magazine photos that had examples of what the front end of the Camaro does at higher speeds, someone had to have seen this before...

I hope the links work

The chin spoiler or front ground FX pretty much wraps under the car...

Sorry the images are not the best quality.

Has anyone tried reinforcing any of this?

Thanks
