Removing motor from electric outside mirrors
I have my entire outside mirror off, I want to get the motor and mirror out of the housing. I can access two of the three screws to do this. How do I get the the third, it is blocked by the motor. I think I could do it if the mirror was off the motor, how does the mirror come off the motor?

Re: Removing motor from electric outside mirrors
The mirror is held on by a three things. The first two are the direction screws. The third parts is a small metal cross that the mirror pivots on. I have removed mine several times. Gently push the tip of the mirror in as far as it will go. You can apply some force to do this. You might even hear the adjustment screw push in a bit farther. Dont be alarmed. Look inside and you'll see how the mirror connects to the motor by the metal cross. Using a slim screwdriver, carefully pry (towards the motor) the mirror away. The two adjustment screws will pull out on their own. I've also done it by heating up a screwdriver and bending a 45 degree bend in it. Then you can get to all three screws.
