Re: rear hatch leak
check your seal that runs completely around the hatch area.It is attached to the body if you're unsure.

Yes you can pull them apart and use window sealant to put it back together. THis is the same stuff they use when install the front windshields. I would check for leaks everywhere before pulling these two parts apart.

Re: rear hatch leak
i did the only place on the seal on the body that gets wet is on the bottom corners but when its closed its tight and its wet on the inside of the seal in the corners so i figured it was the seal between the rear window and the deck lid leaking but i found a hatch off an 88 with rear louvers for sale i can have it for 40 bucks for whole rear hatch but its off a formula i think will this fit it should rite?

Re: rear hatch leak
I'm not sure if this will help, but I have been ending up with water in my "trunk" floor.I replaced my seal and still had a leak.Just today I took some rubber sealant and made a bead all the way around the outside of my hatch, where the metal frame meets the edge of the glass.I am hoping this will fix my 87 firebird

Re: rear hatch leak
These hatches are mostly all the same except the bolt holes for spoilers, ect. But take it from someone who has changed hatches 2 times, these are hard to get lined up exactly right once all 4 bolts are removed.the hatch mouns are adjustable where the hatch is bolted to the body, under your headliner and where the 4 bolts are that go through the rear glass.try the fix I mentioned in my other post before you change hatches.
