Re: New Paint 2004 Luxo Blue
Thanks!
I'm going to let it harden up the rest of the way in the sun tomorrow, didn't want to get pollen or dust on it while it was still soft. It's not a perfect paint job, but not bad either. Had a couple spots where a run lightened up the metallic paint. Ah I'm also considering doing some sort of ghost flame on the hood, not an overly done flame job though, just a few. Havn't decided on which pearl to use. Hmm
Here's another pic I snapped tonight after laying out some clear on the nose, took the pic with my cell phone so its not as clear or smooth in the pic as it is in person.

I hope your getting a new windshield...Looks like it got some weld spatter, from filling the antenna hole.

Scheduling a new one to get put in today, the other one had two long cracks in it from the hood a year or so ago. I think that windshield saw about maybe 2 or 3 miles of driving... I'm for putting it in when I did.

If you're a painter, or someone who's dabbled in it or seen it you'll know what I mean, it definately looks better in the pics or from a slight distance than it does right up close. It needs to be wetsanded with 2000 and 3000 and buffed and there are a couple small areas where some clear drips made a differentiation in the metallic of the base coat to the rest of the car. Overall for the price of the materials in Omni, I'm ok with it for what the car is going to be used for. I do prefer 2k type paints vs 1k. I'm a big deltron/DBU fan. The DRR reducers are great. Here are some more pics.

Just for laughs, I have 3 of these guys/girls out watching over her and the shop, and theyre not won over by treats or a steak... but I guess you could say they get happy and interested when they hear light steps or something out of place

I greatly appreciate the comments. I've done some painting before. I'm by no means a pro or anything. Just started taping out for ghost flames. Going to do some with the positive image taped out so that there are some flames towards the front lip of the hood that are the body color with no pearl ghosted into them.

Decided to go with some solid and ghosted in black flames up the center of the hood. Thinking of shooting a Kandy over the thing. I'll post a few more after its cleared and on the car with the hatch. Airbrushed on some Tangerine Pearl/Clear along the top edge of the rear spoiler to high light it so when a car comes up behind a lil close at night they'll see it pop. I know but its fun.
