I have to say, That Even though single stages sound like its you shoot it and your done, Its not worth it on a car. I have shot single stage urethane Paints and unless your pretty good at shooting paint, It can be hard to get it perfect just like he said. Also Think about it this way, When you shoot a single stage, plan on getting ready to buff it/ wetsand it and if you screw up you'll have re shoot it. on a bc/cc there is more room for mistakes. Also When you shoot a bc/cc It last a lot longer just because the clear protects the base and its not all just one color. I also know most clears today have a lot more UV protection against fading paint on a bc/cc paint job.

lol I basically said what you said in an earlier post.

Not 100% positive if I will attempt this on my own..May do the paint removal, and the minor body work myself. I have had several things done by a friend who owns a body shop. May enlist his service on the paint. Just received my new Camaro Performers Mag and have found my color...On page 22 there is a 69 painted with Glasurit candy red over a silver base. I'm in love!!! The silver base is understood, the candy red not..From the photo I take it the candys are translucent, and require several layers to build up the color. Is this correct?? Then of course the clear....Wished I could find a pic of HOK candy red over silver base.. Thanks for the info..

Re: My '91 Vert has been collecting dust for some months .. time for some changes

unfortunately the car is not back together yet ..

all that is left is the front clip and ground effects to paint

since christmas I've taken a cdl class and got a job as a painter at a body shop so I havent really had time to work on the car

should be bringing it home soon since I dont go to the college any more but got access to two body shops and my booth at my house I built to finish the car

I finished the cdl class last friday so as soon as I get some time to work on the car I'll post more pics .. I got the back end together and it looks awsome

Re: My '91 Vert has been collecting dust for some months .. time for some changes

cool .. another vert ..

as for mine .. I brought it home from college about a week ago since I don't go there anymore and have a full time job (no time to go down there and work on it)

so I'll be finishing mine up when I get time and on weekends ..

Just bought a 2007 Nissan 350z to be my DD till the camaro is done (then it'll be half and half) .. so I gotta get my paint booth done at home so I can make some extra money one weekends, then I'll get my camaro done (need new injectors, door seals, and the list goes on)

I'm not selling the camaro though .. its keeping my insurance down $1000 / year cheaper on the 350z than if I didnt have it
