I'm curious too

Also if anyone has a close-up picture of what the tabs look like, I may be able to make something that would work.

Re: Mounting tabs for Aero wing spolier???

sorry guys, as far as I know noone makes the factory style tabs for factory spoilers. If you have an aftermarket fiberglass spoiler they usually come with
tabs to mount them to your hatch.
There was another member here that made his own with some sheet metal
for his 4th gen wing but can't remember who!
Actually,If I remember correctly,it was one of the moderators here!
Still can't remember who it was.
Try a search for (cheesy clips on 4th gen wing)
Don't know if that will help, but will give you an idea what to search for
(I hope)

Whenever I see a wing in a junk yard I grab any clips that aren't cracked, I you will usually grab one or to at a time this way, otherwise you are screwed, sorry...

I've called around wrecking yards here in Ontario and I've yet to find one that actually has any third gens in their lots Was trying to see if I could find a fiberglass one from a 92ish T/A - i think those were fiberglass.

It's showing up now.

Someone mentioned before that Hawks sells a "kit" that comes with thier fiberglass wings that has clips for attaching to the glass frame.

Can anyone verify if it is metal or plastic?

Re: Mounting tabs for Aero wing spolier???

All I have seen is the metal tabs along the metal edge around the rear hatch. I have never seen them where you can attach them along the hatch. You would have to locate a hatch that has the clips already in place, sans wing.

I have a wing available if anyone is interested.

JB.

Re: Mounting tabs for Aero wing spolier???

The pic posted is the metal tab that is welded to that hatch. Thats not the clip. The clip is a small, white serated looking thing.

I gave up on my wrap around spoiler and hatch option because of the clips.

Fyrstorm, i know a couple junkyards around here with thirdgens. Just none of them know what they have. You can try Paradise Alley, but they charge an arm, a leg, and your firstborn.

haha!yep its showing up now.Thats the factory wing piece and will not work on a 4th gen wing. Those clips in the pic need to be removed if you want to mount a 4th gen styled wing to your car.I used some pliers and careful twisting to remove them from my car.
And,yes I can verify the clips are metal for the hawks 4th gen wing.
give me a reminder if you don't see a pic before noon.
I actually think you'd be surprised at what actually holds these things onto the car.Not much more than a tab from a soda can.

Yeah I figured it would be something simple, my hatch came with the cheapy spoiler option so no clips

I figured when I get to that stage of my car I'll go to lowes and get a strip of still and bend it at a angle and drill / cut a "catch" into it like the above picture to hold the spoiler.....then spot weld it to the frame....no biggie
