I NEED SOME OPINIONS AND HELP ON HEADLIGHT CONVERSION

I HAVE A 1986 TRANSAM ITS MIDNIGHT BLUE AND I WANTED TO DO A CONVERSION ON THE HEADLIGHTS SO AFTER SEARCHING FOR A FEW HOURS FOR THE 1'S THAT I THINK WOULD LOOK BEST I FOUND SOME NISSAN SKYLINE R32 LIGHTS THAT LOOK LIKE THEY WOULD FIT NICELY AND STILL STICK WITH THE LINES OF THE NOSE THE PIC OF THEM IS HERE
http://dragdriftautox.com/images/products/100_1952.jpg

I CANT MAKE UP MY MIND ON IF THIS WOULD BE A MISTAKE OR IF IT WOULD ACTUALY LOOK GOOD SO LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OR EVEN IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS

ALSO I WANT TO GET A NOTCHBACK HATCH FOR MY T/A SO IF ANY 1 HAS ONE IN OK CONDITION ID BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO TAKE IT OFF YOUR HANDS

Re: I NEED SOME OPINIONS AND HELP ON HEADLIGHT CONVERSION

when I first got my Trans Am, I hated the pop up lights, but after a while they grow on you... With that said, many people have done solid-light conversion on Trans Ams. Do a search, I can't remember of the top of my head...

Re: I NEED SOME OPINIONS AND HELP ON HEADLIGHT CONVERSION

It would take a lot of bodywork to make those work in your car. I would remove the headlamp doors and entire pop-up assembly, make lexan covers to fill this opening and then work out some kind of projector set-up ( like the acura integra)

Re: I NEED SOME OPINIONS AND HELP ON HEADLIGHT CONVERSION

well i lookd at the acura lights i was also thinking about trying to just make inserts and sinking the existing lights or even just makeing a fully custom set of lenses but i love the way those lights look and i got a good idea from another post about making custom led signals to fit inbetwene the fronts in place of the stock 1's and fill a little bit of left over space i wouldn't use the skyline side markers itd be too much more work and it would look kinda stupid also do any of you know somewhere i can get a whole new custom front end cause mines in bad shape stress cracks etc and if i got it custom i could just bolt the new lights right to it instead of trying to do the fiberglass work myself

Re: I NEED SOME OPINIONS AND HELP ON HEADLIGHT CONVERSION

Make it as simple as possible, I've seen this conversion screwed up more times than I have seen it done nicely. The less you try to mess with the original lines of the car the better.

Re: I NEED SOME OPINIONS AND HELP ON HEADLIGHT CONVERSION

no, pilot auto makes headlight conversion kits, to make your headlights from the whole solid light assembly to the ability only to replace the bulb. www.pilotautomotive.com for headlight conversions.

No, do NOT put nissan lights on a GM CAR. Those lights are not made for your car! Plus they look ugly. If you want nissan headlights, then buy a nissan!

Re: I NEED SOME OPINIONS AND HELP ON HEADLIGHT CONVERSION

I'm thinking he wants to do a lot of re-working to the front end. It is difficult to say the least! But, hot-rodding got its roots from this type of stuff....
