Normal seam for quarter panel replacement?

Is this seam normal for a quarter panel replacement? I had to sand about 1/2 inch of bondo to get to the bare metal. They also overlapped the old/new quarter...

There was also bondo over the rocker corner too, didn't stop the rust though

Don't worry I did sand all the way back to bare metal before shooting the epoxy primer on. I tried to use as little bondo as I could get away with. Whoever did the quarter panel replacement put bondo over most of the panel and I welded a piece of metal in the rocker rust hole.

Re: Normal for quarter panel replacement?

There probably is no "normal" place for a qtr replacement seam, as everyone tends to do it their own way.
However, a 1/2" of bondo is WAY too thick and was probably applied that thick to cover up extreme warpage.

Yeah the bondo seemed to be in excess. The other side has a whole bunch of bondo over it too. I don't know why but they ruffed it up with what looks like a side grinder then put about a 1/4 inch of bondo over it. I'll post pictures of that tomorrow.
