Hawks third gen "sunoco" hood

Hello everyone, i just bought a sunoco style hood from hawks third gen, personally i think the qualty of this hood is complete crap!! First it looked like a 5 year old primed it, a ton of pin holes in the fiberglass and sand scratches every where, and once i sanded it and layed down 3 medium wet coats of sherwin-williams p-30r primer there is not one straight part on this hood!! Has anyone else have these problems with their hoods?? Thanks

Re: Hawks third gen "sunoco" hood

I havn't gotten a hood from them, but i did buy the aftermarket 91-92 blisters. They came the same way, all swirls from sanding as well as curved the wrong way. It took a belt sander, to sand down the edges, and a lot of block sanding to smoothing them out. I reinforced the back of them too, because i was scared the quality of work was going to allow for the bolts to pop out when i tighten them down. I was def. a bit upset with the quality of the piece, but with some work, it did end up looking great...
