rust on firewall

rust on firewall

whats a good way to help stop and prevent rust on the firewall? on the back of the motor/distributor. am guessing where the water run off from the cowl vent leaks through the seam?

Just knock the loose rust off and put some POR-15 (http://por-15.com) on it. You can just scuff it with some 220 grit or so sand paper and paint over it.
