Factory Paint code help

I need help in finding the factory correct Black paint code for 91-style Hood blister inserts, door handles and locks.

This is for my 91 Z28.

Thanks.

Re: Factory Paint code help

If color of your car is black than they should be the same color as you car. and that code should be in in your glove box. There is lots of info on this on the site for decoding the tag in the glove box

Re: Factory Paint code help

Perhaps I should have been clearer.

I am talking about the little "grille" insert-thingy (for lack of better terminology) in the blister itself.

Re: Factory Paint code help

There isn't really a code for the black trim. I found the Duplicolor Trim Black is almost a dead on match. I resprayed the rear window louvers with this and found it to be very close. I would think that SEM or or others would have an exact match of just "Trim Black"

Re: Factory Paint code help

I use SEM, its really close. I find that it is slightly more flat than the OEM but after a few years of rubbing it looks like the OEM stuff. So I really don't know if the age of the paint indicates that it is worn or the SEM is not as glossy... I like the SEM because it sticks really well and it covers well..

Never tried the Dulicolor so I can't argue with Scott...
