Re: mirrors
i guess it could be done. just gut them both out, and rebuild the good set. i guess it wouldn't be too hard.

Re: mirrors
Sorry, i don't know much about the mirrors. that was the idea that came to me when i read this. actually, i don't know much about these cars, just bought one a couple weeks ago (only ran 2 tanks of gas through personally) and i didn't have to do any work to it yet. but i have some projects for it, so in a little while,\ i will be more familiar with these. so sorry i couldn't help, but i think all the mirrors should mount the same way. but if not, then GM didn't think that through very well.

i just reread your post. and got to thinking. are the manual mirrors you got from a thirdgen? im assuming they are.

Re: mirrors
yes...i've done it...it's very simple. Manual and power assemblies use the same three screws to hold it in, manual driver side is a pain to take apart becuase you need to take the joystick apart to get it out if i remember correctly. If you don't care about it, cut it in half and just pull it out, no worries. Mirror casings are identical so just take the set that you want and use them. If you are using the manual mirror casings...on the passenger side there will be a sticker covering the big hole that the power wires go through. Just peal that off. Other than that it's pretty straight foward. Take apart the manual set first so you know what your doing on your power set.

Re: mirrors
i already have power mirrors. the set i am buying are manual. the reason im getting them is b/c they are the same color as my car. the d/s i bought is black and just want to use the guts fron the black one and rebuild the manual to a power unit.

Re: mirrors
Thats what i'm saying, the mirror cases (shells) are the same. You can take what ever shell you want to use, and put power into it. It uses the same 3 screws reguardless of manual or power.
