airless spray guns?

has anyone every sprayed automotive paint through an electric airless paint gun such as a wagner. i think it would work and it could save me from having to buy my own compressor and paint gun.

Re: airless spray guns?

I sprayed my hood, nose, and fenders with a Wagner power painter. I just used Rust-oleum mixed 70-30 with paint thinner. It actually laid down fairly nice, but there was some orange peel that was smoothed out with a quick wet sand.

It was a temporary fix since my clear coat was faded and chalked really bad. I did it a few months ago and it still looks really nice. Check the pic in my sig, that's how it turned out.

Re: airless spray guns?

wow thats pretty cool

I just painted my basement with enamel but I used air

green on the walls
orange on the floor
bronze on the stairway and the first cinderblock off the floor is also a bronze pinstripe

so here is other side of the coin
