Black with red metalflake? Now I've seen everything! Got any closer pics? Can't really see the metal flakes.

For "metal flake" thats very small metal flake, almost just looks like the metallic in metallic paints. I was expecting it to look more...boat like for lack of a better term.
At one time, before I decided this car (the '87) had too many mechanical problems, I was going to give it to my neice. It was slated to painted a dark pink color with heavy metal flake. Part of me wishes it could've happened, I would've loved to see peoples faces.

Re: Painted engine bay black w/red metalflake
Do you have any before pictures?
It looks pretty sharp.
I am going to be painting my engine bay soon, first time painting the engine bay for one of my own cars and the pictures you posted has motivated me to put in a few longer hours in my garage to get my job done.
I have everything pulled out of the engine bay and everything degreased, but found a few spots that could use some bodywork before I spray.
Looking at your work though is nice and very motivational.

I do not have ne before pictures. But when i did mine i didnt ever take anything apart, i taped everything up and scuffed it. Primer first the paint. Also i sanded and undercoated the battery tray to prevent future rusting. It took me about 4 hours to do the entire project.

I like the color alot. Kind of reminds me of the old sparkled bumper cars at the amusement parks
