DOOR SKIN DISCONTINUED???
I'm looking to replace my drives DOOR SKIN with an OEM replacement. I was looking on GM parts direct and couldn't find it. I also called classic industry and they said it was discontinued? Anyone know where I can get an OEM drives door skin or good aftermarket skin?

Re: DOOR SKIN DISCONTINUED???
when i was doing research i found that you can buy a door skin for pretty much any years of camaros except the 82-92. i wasnt sure if it was the way the door was made or just that they stoped producing them... it seems that there are a lot of parts that are harder to get for the 3rd gens then any other years. thank god for the junk yards!!

Re: DOOR SKIN DISCONTINUED???
i think that the auto industry feels 80's cars are still too new to start reproducing parts. but i'm starting to see more interior parts being reproduced so i'm thinking plans to reproduce body panels are in the works,
and only makes sense since we already see much older car body panelss being reproduced

Re: DOOR SKIN DISCONTINUED???
i hope they do start to produce more parts but it is frustrating seeing parts for 69-81 and 93-02. i think we just might have the black sheep of camaros until they become more rare and colectable, then they can charge any price they want for stamped sheet metal.

Re: DOOR SKIN DISCONTINUED???
I'd think a full door, minus interior panel, would be cheaper to buy & repaint than buying a new skin, having the old skin pulled off, welding the new one on, and then repainting it.

Re: DOOR SKIN DISCONTINUED???
can be hard to find a mint door to put on the car. My car is absolutly perfect, the passenger door is still perfect but the skin is badly pushed in in the middle. i was hoping to be able to re-skin my door but hadnt gotten a quote on it yet
that sucks!
that sucks!

I had to get a friend to do it the hard way cut and weld in new sheet metal.
third gen is the stepchild of the camaro family. even in the car mags very poor coverage i see very few third gen's featured. we need to make some noise. that we are here.

Re: DOOR SKIN DISCONTINUED???
Hard to find? Maybe I should keep my spare doors, already white like my car, with power windows, power mirrors & power locks...
