Wade Headlight Covers.

Hey Guys, I just bought some WADE headlight covers for my 87 IROC, actually I bought two sets. One I set I sent back because of a bad fit, but the other set fits the same way, and I was wondering if anybody else had bought these.

The photos on the WADE site show these things fitting flush inside the headlight buckets, but mine are 1/8 inch bigger than the openings. And yes I got the ones for the IROC Z28. (p/n 31286) I used the mounting brackets provided with the lenses and installed them per the instuctions but they end up bowed out into the airstream and just look like sh*t! And what's with that notch in the upper outside corner? It doesn't look like that's supposed to be there. Has anyone else dealt with these things? If so, what am I doing wrong?

Here's what they look like compared to the WADE photos.

Re: Wade Headlight Covers.

I would guess that either 1.they sent you the wrong ones, 2. they cut them wrong from the factory.....or 3 someone changed the bumper cover on your car once and used a different year. i agree that they don't look good. I recently used a pair of GTS clear covers and they fit as they should.......

Re: Wade Headlight Covers.

I had GTS on my 86 and they fit perfect. Why is that angle cut on those Wade ones? I would send them back so quick. I would of never got to the install part because if they were too big why try to install them.

Return them and get some GTS' is my suggestion.

Re: Wade Headlight Covers.

I have two 87 IROC's and I tried to fit them on both. They didn't fit either one, so yeah they're going back to WADE. I bought their tail light covers and they seem to fit alright. I'm kinda wondering about that velcro attachment.
One question though, are those headlight covers supposed to fit flush with the inside of the headlight bucket, or are they set back a bit? That might explain the notch in the one corner. I've only seen photos of those things installed but never up close, so I have to quess as to how they fit. The installation instructions are'nt very helpfull.

Re: Wade Headlight Covers.

I scewed in my tail light covers with one screw where the tail light meets in a triangle and another one by the license plate lite. I didn't want anyone to steal them or fly off. Once again I had GTS in the back too.

Re: Wade Headlight Covers.

Now this is interesting I too have a pair of wade headlight covers for my '86 iroc that I bought a couple years ago and never installed. I got curious and went and held them up to my car... they are TOO SMALL!! With them shifted over to one side of the headlight pocket, there is literally a half inch gap. Complete opposite problem geno had, talk about poor quality control
