Z28 Chin Spoiler on 91 Firebird?
Since my fender GFX are busted/missing on my 91 bird, and they're outrageously priced ($130+ each) if you can find them I'm thinking about going a different route. I've got this wild idea of putting a Z28 chin spoiler on the front of my car to wrap around and hook to the front fenders in place of the overpriced GFX pieces. I've never seen it done, don't have a pic, and can't photochop it. I can picture it in my head, and if it will fit I think it will look sweet. Of course, it will be tucked up under the front of the car (the nose will stick out past it), and maybe even positioned to direct air into the radiator. My 79 T/A had a similar type of spoiler under the front of the car. Does anybody know if it would even fit width wise? I know I'd probably have to cut off the two hump things on the bottom of my nose to make it fit.

I actually had a similar idea, but I thought about taking a 91-92 chin spoiler that was all busted up, and using only the side pieces. Cutting them down to fit in the same place as the originals. Ultimately I decided it was more trouble than it was worth to do the fab work, so I ponied up for stock pieces. I think it could work and look cool tho.

If I can get ahold of a busted up chin spoiler for free/cheap I'm going to try it out. If it works out with a mock up then I'll look for a good one.
BTW....That's close to the look I'm going for on my car, it's nice to actually have a visual image of all the pieces together. The only differences are I'm going to opt for the RA II hood, keep my plain vent-less fenders, and throw on a set of C6 wheels.
Is that an original 4th gen spoiler or a repro made to fit 3rd gen?
