My Harwood 3 inch cowl fits on pretty darn good. Just trimmed the big shipping protection edge off to make it look like the factory hood's lip, bolted to the hood hinges, wiggled it around a little, done!

Re: Fiberglass hood fitment nightmares......
yeah what happened when i cut the front lip off when it latched there was like a quater inch gap. i was ready to shoot myself cuz i cut off two much. i dont know if latch is adjustable or not but i just wound up taking it off and the hood was able to lay flat on the nose. bought some 1 dollar pins off ebay and all worked perfectly

Re: Fiberglass hood fitment nightmares......
I put my hood pins more toward the edge of the rad support. What I did is marked about where I wanted the pins to be then drilled from the outside (top) down so I had a clean hole while the hood was closed, then simply bolted the pins...

Re: Fiberglass hood fitment nightmares......
My ss hood fitted ok,just has a slight bow around the left hinge area, which seems to be excess material.Otherwise i put some hood pins in as the hoods sometimes flex above the headlight pockets at speed, and with the pins it's solid.

Re: Fiberglass hood fitment nightmares......
I had mine made from a fiberglass shop in Orange, hence why mine looks different than every elses. It fit perfectly, . The lines are perfect too, just at the hinges it sticks up a little but that's because I don't have any struts on it.
Unfortunately on my hood the place mount the latch is too far back so it couldn't latch at all. So I removed it and have just hood pins in place. Mine are halfway between UDAMON's location and the bump stops for the hood. Haven't had any issues yet. Once I had it lined up and everything, the front edge sits fairly close to the nose so there's no real danger of it trying to lift up. My signature is an old picture so don't go by that gap

Re: Fiberglass hood fitment nightmares......
Yes it did man. I put mine in yesterday finally. It was a sinch. They corrected most of the alignment problems. There is still some gapping in the front by the nose but that's mostly because the front nose isn't bolted down nice and tight yet. Hopefully I can get to it today and it'll be much better.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: Fiberglass hood fitment nightmares......
Heres what I mean. first pic is of the passenger side that just wont align. Thats the hooding you can see through the gap. Second pic is the drivers side that aligns up nicely. Guess I should just pick out a new hinge from the bone yard.

Re: Fiberglass hood fitment nightmares......
I feel you guys pain. I know my car was hit before I owned it.
The first thing I remember was the hood would pop open on it's own 13 years ago. A little hammer action and it was fine. It never bothered me until recently that my headlights were always misaligned. Well, after so many adjustments, I finally gave up and used the hoodpins. They can get the hood closer to correct then anything else. I just tweak the hoodpins a little and get 'em to align whichever way is best for either side.
86bird', I have the same problem but backwards. The passenger's side was hit and fits fine but the drivers side which is a-ok, fits like crap. I found out the passenger's side was hit because all the rust underneath is on the passenger's side. All the missing panels and screws are on the passenger's side. What reassured me was when I was doing a little hammer action again getting the fenders and stuff bent properly, the top part of the fender by the nose cracked. I was like WTF?!
Metal doesn't crack. Well, chipped off the cracked paint and found bondo underneath it. Bondoed the nice little smooshes and dents under there. Dammit man, more work for me.
