Clear side markers 85-92?

Clear side markers 85-92?
Been looking on Ebay for clear side markers for my 84 Camaro?
But all the listings say 85-92. What is the difference between the 84 and 85 side marker?
Also,
What I'm planning on doing is converting these too LED, so I'm hoping to oven bake them, to get them open.
The factory ones looks to be plastic welded, and the only way to get inside is to cut them open.
Are these aftermarket ones the same, or do they use an adhesive to glue the 2 pieces together?

Thanks,
I'll remember that!
Can you get these anywhere besides ebay?
I got a reply back from one of the other ebay sellers, and said he said this.

Dear customer
Seems like the light style change on these 2 years so the item will not work on 84 model
thank you

Re: Clear side markers 85-92?
i used plug in amber leds with a 194 base they are bright and have all the advantages of LED's............BTW if u put LEDs in your front park/turn lamps you will have to take the ground wire on your side marker and ground it to the frame, as the camaros have the side marker grounded to the hot on the front turn siginal, this is what enables it to flash with the turn signal only filiment bulbs will make the artifcal ground, the leds wont..... here is a link to the LEDs on e-bay also im tring to post a pic of how the sidemarkers are wired to flash with turn, you will se that all you do is desconnect the Hot Turn feed to the side marker and ground it instead leaving the turn wire to the front marker/turn untouched

Thanks for the image on the side marker.
I've been wondering how it worked, up till now depending on which way I hooked up the LED, it would only flash with the park lights off, or with the park lights on.
I'll try this grounding the wire.
As for the LEDs, I'm using superflux LEDS, and going for a certain look with them. I want an even row of LEDs, it should look pretty cool once it's done.
I just got one of the front parking/turn lights done, and pretty happy with it.
Started on one of the rear tail lights today. The car is going to have all the exterior lights (except the headlights, which will be HID) converted to LEDs.
Here is a couple pics of my front parking/turn. Not quite done with it yet, these pics were taking before I sanded/polished the lens.

Re: Clear side markers 85-92?
ok i drew it up on how you need to wire it to get your side markers to work, now, they will only be parking lights, you will not have the side marker turn signals anymore, now you can also do as i have pictured in the other drawing to have a side marker that still flashes with the turn signals and it will be bright flashes just like your front marker/park , but you will have to use a custom LED set up that would have a dim (park) and a bright (turn) just pretend the bulbs in the drawings are LEDS, you will not need to change the wire setup on your front ones, by the way the front ones look kickin....

Re: Clear side markers 85-92?
Thanks option 2 was what I was thinking of doing, run them in parallel of the front lamps.
Ya I'm pretty happy with how the front lamps turned out. Just wish those lamps would open up by baking them, took forever with a dremel (lol).
I'm hoping the clear markers, use a glue and will open easier.
I tried with the factory amber ones, put them in the oven. Then got side tracked, and left them in too long. Let just say, they won't ever go on a car again (lol). but even then they still wouldn't open up.

Re: Clear side markers 85-92?
I am working on doing the sames thing with the superflux LEDS. I am working on the Tailights and rear spoiler, then I am going to do a set of clear corners that I just ordered. Did you ever get them open?

Re: Clear side markers 85-92?
I tried the oven method on one of the factory ones and the glue wouldn't soften and it ended up just warping the signal.
You're going to convert your tail lights to LED? Have you seen my thread on doing that? The rate I'm going tho, I bet you get done before me (lol).
It's hard to get motivated to finish mine ywhen the car isn't drivable yet

funny you say that about the car not being drivable. I am kinda on hold with the LEDs untill my car sees paint. It has been so long since I have driven it that I want to paint it and work on these while the other tailights and side markers are in it. I cant go another summer without my car
