i got my first third gen in 96, i was i 12th ,it was an 83 z,cffi car i traded my 85dodge ramcharger for it i had itall of 2 weeks and it went bang! put in aused 305 ,and proceded to beat it over andover again went through 7 tranys befor my oldest was born, then i traded itfor a ful size bronco, when the guy came to pick up the car ,they were so drunk that in sted of drive thyput the truck in revese(they were flat towing with a chain) and backed over the car with a1ton dually and toataled it,i really miss that car i have had 5 since then ,82z/88rs/88sc/89rs drag car/and now a nother 83z but this oneis attop,but history reapeats itsellf , i drove this one 2 weeks an it wentbang allso, so now i sits as a rolling chassis it was auto it is now a 5 speed car. stil looking for an engine

didnt get my camaro till spring of this year, kinda funny really, i had one buddy that was going to junk his 88 iroc with the 305 in it cuz he had a hole in the floor bigger than a 6x9 speaker, and needed serious suspension work, but ran and drove amazingly. i bought it from him for 50 bucks on a whim lol decided to get a roller. but THEN my OTHER buddy (can yah tell what croud i hang out with?) blew his trans in his southern owned 85 SC with the 2.8l (perfect body, just needed paint). and he decided he wanted just a new car. can you guys see where this i going? bought that for 100 bucks, ripped the 2.8 out and am now in the process of 1+1=? lol

I got my very first car, which was a 1987 SC, about a month before I graduated. I fell in love with Third Gen Camaros the previous summer and I longed for one. One day coming back from school I noticed one parked at a dealership not too far from my house. I took my dad down there to look at it and I took it for a test drive. When we got home I talked about how much I loved it. A few days later my parents told me that I could have my graduation present a little early and they handed me $1,000 and told me I could do whatever I wanted to do with it. The next day my dad and I went down to the lot and I used the money as a down payment and it was mine! I had it for 5 years before selling it. The person who bought it still has it and I see it from time to time.



Here it is about a year later after I got it painted and ground effects installed. As you could see at that time I wasn't too knowledgeable about the different styles of ground effects. I had a '91-'92 front chin, '85-'90 side skirts, and the rear is '91-'92.

I got my thirdgen 1988 firebird in 9th grade. my brother gave it to me.. since then ive redone the whole interior, repainted the car, and have done relentless work to get it where it is today.. im a senior in highschool now.. and everyone in the school parking lot is jealous lol.. i must say i enjoy pulling in the parking lot every day!!

yes when i was 17 my dad bought me an 89 rs with ttops a 2.8 and a 5 speed and black. Had it for about 1.5 years then it started running like crap and nobody could get it running correctly. it would run good for alittle bit than start running like crap again. i wanted to just pull it and put a 350 in it but my dad traded it for a 90 beretta. No i have a 89 iroc with tops and a 5.7 white

First car was an 84 camaro with a crate 305. To this day, I can still say it was the most dependable (yeah, really) car I ever owned. It also took more punishment than you could believe. Got it when I turned sixteen. Used to get drunk every weekend and do donuts at every intersection big enough. Those were the days. I got rid of it though when the troppers starting hanging around and I found out quick, they're not quite as lenient as the local cops. Still miss that car

i bought my 86 for $400 dollars when i was a junior in high school. Got it running in time for the end of senior year. Since then i swapped in a 383 for the 355 and put an Eaton Posi out back. Now i have an 84 T/A that will be getting the 383 as well as a t-56 i recently acquired. Had a lot of good times in the 86 though. My fondest memory is my 100 foot burnout on the last day of high school with my vice principal running after me.

The first car I ever drove was my dad super clean '87 iroc 350tpi red-ttop car. Gorgeous car....feel in love ever since. Dad wouldn't let me have one, so on my 18th birthday I traded in my '89 beretta GT and got my first one. A nice maroon '88 iroc ttop 5.0tpi auto car. Paid 4000 or something crazy for it...sticker price I think (young kid), it was a little rough but ran GREAT and was so much fun. Had it for my senior year in high school....was a great hit. Was also the only car I ever wrecked....saturday night into the back of a ford ranger stoped on the interstate....good times..I got in so much trouble back then in that car and had such great times, drove it everywhere!!

When i was in 7th grade my dad had an iroc with a smallblock in it. i had no idea about anythign else at the time but i loved that car so much. Then i had an 87 camaro with no engine for a little while until i got offered the right offer at the right time and sold it for 500 bucks.

i just got my 91 firebird the day after i graduated. I actually used my graduation money as gas money to go get it. haha. Now i just graduated this year and since june 16th i have had that firebird. But actually just this mornign i traded it for a 1981 trans am with a shaker hood and all kinds of goodies, AND a 1999 grand prix. summer toy, winter beater....cant go wrong.

Close... I was 19 / 20 when I got my 89 Formula. It is my first car cause I still have it 9 years later! I have another car as a daily driver. I never drive the Bird in bad traffic conditions.

I had/have a 1992 z28 hardtop G92 350 car in high school. red with black guts. still have it too. I also had a lifted 83 bronco, 77 K10 shotbed 4x4 with a 454 and a 4 speed manual, a 79 built drag car camaro, a 1994 Z28 vert , a lifted toyota shortbed 4x4 on 33's.

I just bought my first car, a 1991 Camaro RS just in time for my senior year. Being in Hawaii I'm surrounded by cicvic hatchbacks with fart cans, and our school has lots of em.

The funny thing is I was looking at an 88 RS before my car, and that car got sold. I saw it in our staff parking lot and it turns out one of my teachers bought it.

I bought my T/A when I was 15 and had plans to use it as my daily driver. Unfortunately, we found out the car had frame damage, so we left it sitting in my parents garage for the past 8 years.

Now though, I have started the task of completely rebuilding/restoring the car and I cannot wait to really get into working on it.

Yup, just started my senior year and got my 1991 Firebird 305TBI during the summer. Was casually looking for a car since my sister is now a freshie so I drive her to school everyday, and didn't want to drive my truck everyday or in the rain. Found her on Craigslist, went and checked her out, and drove home. Paid off $1500 of the $2500 we got her for, and I'm paying my parents the rest as the year goes on.


Dude, nice truck! I have a black 1954 Dodge C1B6 that my family bought 8 years ago for my mom (she always wanted an antique truck) and then she never learned to drive it. We got the engine rebuilt, and then it sat for years in the garage until last year, after getting my permit, I motivated my dad to help me fix it up.

I call it mine because I'm really the only one that drives it, and I did a bunch of work on it; its still in my dad's name however. Drove her a couple days a week to school last year (junior) and everybody loved her. Now I got my 'Bird as well; 2 vehicles that really couldn't be very much more different

I bought mine when i was 15 and now i am currently 17 and a senior. My car has been through a lot of interior work by myself and a huge repaint job done my dads cousins shop. A couple months after i got it back from the shop it was keyed and had to go back in to get repainted. I got it back and have had it for about 6months and the paint is starting to bubble, so back to the shop it goes in a couple weeks....its a great car but i wish it didnt have to go to the shop so much! Oh and I have paid for everything plus the car itself.

My first was an '82 firebird se it was cool cus i was born in '82 sadily it got totaled when on my way to work a guy failed to yield and i t-boned him in his t-bird lol poor baby... i got a 91 rs but its in the shop and right now i have a 91 formula... ill find some pics of me back in the day with my bird i loved that car!!!

End of junior year, had enough saved up for a 1988 Ford F-150 XLT lariat (600), and it was good. Then the starter went out (pita) and something in the column locked up the shifter, and so I used what money I had with help to get my 1987 Formula (1,400). Working on putting in a new column while driving the formula. Then I'll save the bird from rust over the winter and drive the truck.

Got my car when I was 14 and it just sat until this spring. Did different motor, tranny and rear, just got it running about a month ago and went to the dmv today to get my license. Starting my senior year of high school today. This is what she looks like but I'm painting it this winter.

In 1989 I got a 1985 camaro with a 2.8 and auto, it was rust colored and had an alpine with 2 rocking 6x9's. Later i added 2 12"s an iroc hood and front cover,it looked better, but i stilll got smoked by jeep cherokee with a 4 cylinder. I had to get going in reverse and slam it into drive and floor it just to get the wheels to spin.

lol my mom bought me an 88 i think, iroc z when i was 14 to teach me how to drive and work on. so for about a year i learned how to replace the tranny, seats, various electrical work, and then it was stolen before i was able to learn to drive lmao

Got my first third gen camaro at 16, didn't do much to her since she was perfect in my eye, she was a 1992 Camaro 25th Anniversity. At all change until my brother wreck it, i was happy to find another camaro she was a 1984 Camaro i fix her up and was happy to take her to high school, also i was the only thirdgen camaro in my school

Well I just got my firebird last thursday, and I am in my last year of highschool. Its my seconde vehicle, my first being a 1983 GMC custom van, named Nightmare, wich I got before my permit, now I have my full license and I now have 2 vehicles. My Firebird is a 1989 firebird with a V6 (2.8L), and the GT look package with T-tops and air conditioning. (not sure about any other options). Looking foward to driving her and looking arround this web site!

I started my senior year of high school a couple weeks ago and today was my 2nd time bringing my 1991 Trans Am 'vert to school (yesterday was the first). Here's a pic of it in the school parking lot:

My other car is a 1994 GMC Jimmy... I'm 17 and own 2 cars, I consider myself very lucky and blessed.

The Bird needs paint and some other minor work but I love her.

And when I did come to school in my Bird, obviously there are the typical high school punk haters. But what I REALLY love is how all of these haters either:
a) don't even have a license
b) don't have a car
c) drive a POS
d) claim they're about to buy a $15,000 '72 454 Chevelle or a '64 Mustang GT.... I'm not kidding.

So yeah, I do my best to not let them get to me and anybody else my age outta take my advice... remember... they hate it because they're JEALOUS! I got a job and worked for mine!

And the Bird passed emissions today! What a relief!

YES! Props dude!!! Thats exacly what I want to do when I bring mine to school! (I haft to wait for the spring tho). It's pretty cool tho, were both 17, seniors, and we both own 2 GM vehicles. I got a 1983 GMC custom Ventura van, and my 1989 Firebird. And I know what you mean about all the Jealous people... The people I know that have a car at my school drive things like a saturn, mazda 323, huiday, civic. you know all that garbadge. So how do the "chicks" like the new car!? lol

thats all well and good, but if i were you I wouldn't take up two spaces. 1 the school will probably get pissed and 2 people will get pissed and might mess with your car like key it ect.

my ex drove a 1998 BMW M3 to school and everyone always gave her crap for it. It was really nice. something like 80,000 miles on it. bright red vert, god I miss that car. lol

Hahaha I'm not too worried about that. Since people at my school do that often and there are plenty of unused spaces. And I'm thinking it's harder to mess with the car because I usually park in the front row and with all the space around the car it's very easy to see and hard to get away with keying it or something. That's why I always park alone away from other cars (elsewhere too, like store parking lots, etc) so mine is visible especially if I'm parking with the top down.

Um the chicks didn't seem to notice it much yet LOL. I've only brought the t/a to school twice so far. But I'm gonna make her look REAL good by the time spring rolls around, fresh paint, and DEFINITELY getting the huge screaming phoenix on the hood! Hopefully gonna get more heads to turn with that!

My first car ever was an '03 Ranger Edge given to me as a Christmas gift from my parents during my senior year. Shortly after, they decided I didn't need it anymore; my then boyfriend sold his '92 Z28 with a 454 big block (street legal drag car pretty much) for $5k to a guy in Ohio and bought me a Teal '92 RS 5 speed the next week for $2200. Unfortunately, the following April ('04), a girl hit us head on after crossing the median on the interstate. My RS was totaled But, with the insurance money, we bought our current '92 Z28 25th Anniversary Heritage Edition. Needless to say, I married that man 2 years later in '05... and for some reason, he was compelled to buy me my current daily driver - '05 Cobalt SS/Supercharged.

Cars = love, haha.

Really? Sweet thats awesome!!! Its cool how we are young people interested in real cars! At my school everyone drives little ricers like honda's and junk. Lucky indeed, I count myself lucky also, even tho both my vehicles were gifts I've alwase worked hard, and I guess that was a way to pay me back.. Not to sure, but Lucky for sure!

Sounds great!! Can't wait to see how she is going to look! I'm aiming to have my car on the road for mid April, hopefully the paint will be done by then. I'm getting her repainted and a new custom interior from my oncle. I'm sure your car will turn more heads, I'm not sure what other students drive at your school but at mine there all POS! lol. I'm putting a flowmaster on my car to get more attention to lol. (since I only have a little V6 lol)

I got my first third gen my freshman yr of high school, 88 iroc camaro with 16k original miles, my uncle sold it to me for 6 grand, it was literally my life savings. Drove it a little, but i only had a permit at the time, and the day after i got my license the car was totaled out by a drunk driver. Next one was a 89 formula 5 speed 305 tbi, i loved that car, but the motor and tranny pretty much gave out the same day, sold the body to my neighbor, junior yr, then senior yr i got my 91 TA that i still currently own 350 tpi. I got compliments from school, but it wasnt the popular car though, ppl at my high school didnt appreciate good taste in cars at all, or they would just be into the rich boys bmws, or mazda rx8 cars, and the i did get some attention from girls, but basically they were my friends, the girls would only think you were cool if pulled up inside a car they thought was * awww so cute* and had a sound system to show off, i wasnt like that, yea i had 2 subs, but i rocked out. Most cars i easily beat anyway. A kid was talking trash about my car for a week my senior yr telling ppl he killed my Trans Am, and i told him lets line em up after school b***h! He said no man i dont have anything to prove, i already did, im like WHEN...... HAHA thats why im so glad im graduated, stupid high school drama sucked at my school since that was the only thing kids did, because no fights or nothing happened. The kid by the way had a freakin honda civic with just exhaust and intake, and no even enough boost to spin the tires

Got my first third gen my sophmore year 1986 firebird bagged groceries for a year to get her. Had her for about two months before I yanked out the formula 305 and added the 350 behind that formula. She was the fastest in the lot and quite possibly the ugliest. It was primered blue with FORMULA 350 grafittied on the bottom of the door. God I loved that car.
