Oxidized paint?

can anyone tell me a good remedy for fixing this ugly bra mark on the hood. The paint is all discolored and green looking. I was thinking it wass oxidized and have been told some rubbing compound would take it out and get it to shine again with a good waxing. Anyone got some suggestions?

Re: Oxidized paint?

bras....not good 4 anything....on cars....women....anything really
from what ive heard about bra paint damage is that it needs to be re-painted after being on any length of time but u might be lucky and most of the original colour might come back with buffing or a good wax
there is a wax that is supposed 2 restore the car`s colour....give that a try but u might find after waxing that a rock got underneath the bra and made a scratch

Re: Oxidized paint?

Id try rubbing compound first, then if that doesnt work, Id have it buffed out.

Re: Oxidized paint?

I dont remember the name of the product, but a dealer (a freind of my dad's) does detailing work on the side for cheap, which includes very minor body work. Sometimes you may notice, on cars that have headlights protruding, like on a van or truck, there will be a run off from a corner of the light that is rust coloured. You cant get it off with a wash or anything, basically just a stain.

He used this product thats made for cleaning stove top gunk. Its something like, OFF or EASY OFF or something. Take a tooth brush, put that on there sparingly, let it sit for about 10 mins, then wash it off with soap and water, wipe down and buff. After you do the treatment, the paint WILL be dull, so you'll need to wax it, or get out the polishing compound.

TIP:
Try it on the underside of the car where theres a bra mark, or in the headlight buckets if u plan to repaint them. That way, if it doesnt work, u dont screw up the look of the car.
