Anyone use Rhino Liner stuff in engine bay?

I'm talking about the spray-on bed-liner that trucks use. Anyone put that stuff in their engine bay?

where in the engine bay would you spray this? i could see you spraying it in the wheel tubs on the underside of your car but not in the engine bay. this isnt a truck, that stuff looks ugly on anything but a truckbed or the underbody.

The wheelwells, the firewall, the frame rails.

The purpose would be to not scratch the engine bay accidentally all up when removing headers or swapping engines or something like that. And kind of hope it would be chemical resistant. POR-15 might be a good alternative?

well imo if your worried about scratches then when working on your car, put down blankets and stuff like that. if you wanna go for it, more power to ya, i know that a lot of 4x4 trucks and rock crawlers do it. they spray it on the frame and body before its assembled, i just think that the bed liner stuff is for parts that dont get seen.

PS:with all due respect, what kinda chemicals do you spill that you need a chemical resistant engine bay?

The battery produces bad chemicals but I plan on moving that to the trunk with a remote battery kit. So, I guess I don't need it to be really chemical resistant

if your batt is leaking then replace it immedietly (sp?). if its not then thers nothing to worry about, and the vapours dont harm the car either, so if your gonna re-locate it, make sure its got a vent or the unvented acid fumes could kill you.

Well there's no point to having a scratch resistant engine bay if it's ugly anyway.

The original owner of my car did that, put that junk in the engine bay. It looks absolutely terrible!!! The dirt and grim that has built up drives me insane. I am trying to find ways to get rid of it. If your concerned about the scratching of the paint inside the engine bay, just be a bit more careful and be prepared to say "Oh crap" every once in a while if you scratch the paint. Just saying all this to save you the time and money with scratch proofing your engine bay.

i have rino lining in the bed of my old truck and the dirt gets in the texture or what ever and it's never gonna come clean with out a lot of scrubbing but then the dust will collect 5 minutes later and look crappy again. it did sound like a good idea in fender wells, engine bay, at first, but now that i think about it maybe not. the UNDERSIDE of fender wells front and back. i'm gonna do that, thanks for the idea!!!

I did the Fender Wells in the rear on the Outside and the fender lip on the front and some on the inside. No matter how you look you can't tell there's Bedliner unless you remove the fender or the Plastic splash guard. Stick to the underbody. If you want some chemical resistant paint, just take some time and strip the bay down and paint it with some good quality paint and have some extra for touchup. There Might be some smooth bed liner that wouldn't look textured and you could paint over it so it looks nice but either way if you damage the paint you'll have to scuff up the old paint and repaint or touchup.
