Re: The Black Widow
engine mods?!?.......I think I might let my pocketbook recover a bit lmao, Maybe some headers, better y pipe, etc. Im also considering dropping the emissions stuff, since its not really serving any purpose at all (no cat).
Anyways, little update, I got my amp wires packed away a bit more cleanly, added the last pice of trim into the interior, wired up my useless fog light switch to the remote for my amp. The new windshield is going in soon, i'll add pics then.

Re: The Black Widow
I just skimmed through this thread for the first time, and man, that's some serious dedication. A lot of people, myself included, would have given up early on but you stuck with it and it looks absolutely beautiful.
This was probably already said, but what's the name of that color you painted it? I love it.

Re: The Black Widow
Been following you since the beginning, congradulations!!!!! Damn nice job. I do my own custom metalwork and paint and I know how hard this can be. Now aren't you glad you stuck it out to the end? To answer your question about how long before you can wash and wax... washing can take place whenever you want but you shouldn't buff or wax for 3 months after the paint has been laid so it can properly cure. I have my own work to do on my 88 'Bird but I'm starting by installing an LT1 which I am building now. While my old motor is out I'll paint the engine compartment and do the bodywork on the underside....

Bro... Last time I checked this thread out was almost exactly a year ago, and you were just getting the roof on.
Once again, kudos for all of the work and dedication you put into this car. You will undoubtedly hold on to it forever after all of this, lol.
I bow to you

Re: The Black Widow
one thing i was gonna ask about your t top swap.....when you cut your full roof off, did you know that you lost a **** load of support? I would highly suggest a set of sub frame connectors to compensate for this....even with a stock 305 your car is gonna flex like crazy taking off hard

Re: The Black Widow
Well, considering I cut off the old roof, witch was warped all to **** if you actually looked at the entire thread. and I welded some quarter inch steel were I joined the old unibody frame to the new one. I would think its STRONGER then factory.

Re: The Black Widow
Anyways, forgot to tell you all about the show! it was AWSOME!!, plenty of compliments for the car, and the kids liked the sound system. I even met this very nice gal whom helped me try to fix my stereo she said shes a member here...but I can remember her username.
anyways the stereo in my car is buggered now....lmao first the defog, then the fans, now the stereo, and its only been out twice!
for the fans I just bypassed the relays and wired both fans to a switch inside the car, and I put in a 160 thermostat, I wanted a 170 but could not find one. It runs alot cooler now..hopefully not too cool.
anyways, once again thanks for all the compliments and the constructive criticism throughout my build.

Re: The Black Widow
wow. that car looks incredible. you transformed that mess into an awesome beast. i hope that car stays looking like that. i hope my car can someday look that good. my biggest challenge is money. my car doesnt need a fraction of the body work your car did, i just dont have the money to get it painted right now. i also have a project 350 i want to build. so little time so little money. not to mention im still learning everyday. know one has taught me how do body work that involved. awesome work keep it up. with a car that looks like that, you are going to turn heads everywhere. it going to be a regular chick magnet.

Re: The Black Widow
Tiny update ^^
Well I blew both font speakers at the car show
um, I purchased a grant steering wheel and some racing buckets...that dont fit, im going to try to put some feiro brackets to see if it makes a difference. Also I got asked at the last camaro club meeting if I want my car in world of wheels !!!!!!!! and of course I said yes!!...now..just for w.o.w im going to get some rims for it, cause the ones that are on it are chipped all to s***. Ive always liked the way the S10 rims looked on camaro's, but I cant find a set for a decent price up here.
and once again thankyou for all the compliments ^^ now if only I could beat neil's thread lmao

Re: The Black Widow
OK its official! The widow's going to be in world of wheels 2008 in Calgary Alberta! Its one of eight or so cars for the Calgary Camaro club display! It even might have a chance of being in the clubs display *crosses fingers* I would kill to have my car in world of wheels, but to be in a club display too? WOOT!, now......I just need to fix those darn rims

Re: The Black Widow
man dont go with s10 rims, that would be a bad choice. your rims are cool, just polish the lips and paint the insert get some new crome center caps and youll be styling.
if a wheel swap is a must go with some nice boyd's or boze of fourth gen 5 stars.
