Re: The Black Widow

wow.... All that work is amazing. Wish my dad would help me with my car (he's just worried he'll hurt himself, spend too much money, or try and steal the car from me).

After reading through all this makes me want to go and work on my car hardcore.

coming along good. Seems like you might have a few all nighters to get that car ready in two weeks. Paint and prep takes some time to do.

Hey man, big props to you. I know how it is. I'm 17 with two jobs, school, and my 84 Camaro. Thats awesome that you do most of that work with your dad. This thread is definitly a pick me up, when my car is irritating me. So keep us posted. Hope this thing gets done.

Re: The Black Widow

OK!! lmao, cars home, finally, theres a few pits, and a small run on the mirror, but honestly, im not going to bother with my shop teacher, my mom, and my dad and I are just plane sick of his bs, but, all in all for my first, DD car, I say its pretty dam nice lmao, and for the ammount of work we did too it, it only ended up costing 2000.00 even. But anyways, so far, its got the carpets back in it, a few trim pices, and one rear seat lol, oh and we finally got it running (turns out the kids at my school unplugged a few things, but I fixed that, and it ran peachy, as it did when I bought it, but we get it home, and I unplug the neutral saftey switch, and a few other plugs that are on the transmission tunnel, and put the carpet in, and plug them back in, now it wont start >_< also a black box thing that was plugged into the diagnostic plug fell off, and we plugged it back in...and still nothing, starter wont even start up. oh well, I'l get it running eventually. I'll get some pics up soon.

And that's why I will never bring my car to my school and have kids work on it. I might have to hang someone off the lift.

Re: The Black Widow

Be very very carefull when drilling the holes for the wing end pieces. We messed my brothers up the first time we drilled them. Luckily it was still in primer so we were able to weld the hole back up.

Basically there is no good way to mark the holes for the wing tips since you have that third stud that is perpindicular to the other two. Your best bet is to measure a car that has the factory holes and mimic it.

Re: The Black Widow

Lucky us, we left the edge of the old quarter panel, so the holes are still there ^^, just make a little mark with a center punch, and vollia...well..atleast thats how I hope it will go lmao.

Anyways, almost everthing is back on, besides the spoiler pices, driver door panel, and the AC comp. Should be done within the week, then I get to clean up under that dirty engine bay.

Re: The Black Widow

Its all pretty much together, few little things dont work though.
-power door locks in passenger door (linkage missing)
-hatch release (no power getting to the popper)
-wrong tail lights (correct ones ordered)
-nose emblem
-passenger power mirror (ordered)
-front 4x6 speakers (head unit too powerful)
-no windshield (gunna get next paycheck)
-seatbelt headliner cover
-air cond.
-lights in firebird climate controls (assuming the bulbs are dead)

I think thats everything...but hey, the car looks awsome, so those things can wait.

again looks friggin sweet, average person would probably have paid 5x what you did to have something as nice. plus you did alot of it yourself.

Re: The Black Widow

copied from the electronics section

"Ok, so I finally got the widow back together, and it has a short, ive checked my stereo, pulled all the fuses, and check the alternator, and it still has a short, im praying its not a wire under the dash..because I just got that all back in

Anyways, if there are any other spots I should check, please tell me. Im really getting sick of the battery constantly draining."
