Front sub frame

Has any one ever changed one out?

I have a 91 RS that need the front sub frame changed out on ..

i know i have to strip it down.(motor,trany,lines,ext.)

is it all dolted in or is some of it welded ?

any short cuts ?

The front subframe is entirely welded in. If you need to change the subframe, you're better off getting another car.

youll probaly end up spending more money than it cost to buy a good donor body....not to mention the hassel of getting it straight

the only easy way to do this is to clip the car, im using the term easy very loosely too. ive clipped a few cars and it is a lot of work. it invloves drilling out all the spot welds that connect the front of the car to the rest of the car.the cut the rockers and a pillars. there are many measurments that need to be taken in order to ensure that it goes together the proper way. then the a pillars and rockers need to be sectioned back together. im not going into to much detail on the whole process because this post would b crazy long. ill include pictures of an integra i did a right hand drive conversion on, the front clip is from japan. the first picture is a before, second and third are during. notice in the third that only the inner section of the rockers and a pillars is welded up and the outer portion hasnt been sectioned in yet.

thanks guys,

the 91 has a lot of value to me.and i am going to do it.and now i have another 91 im restoring for my wife ..so i have my summer cut out for me.
