hatch alignment tech article
i got a new spoiler and i decided to finnaly align my trunk and repaint it and a while ago i saw the tech article for removing and aligning it but now it seems to be gone! any one know where it ran off too?

I also know you can do it at the hinges which connect to the body. He said he just loosened the 4 bolts up there, loosened the struts, and he was able to re-align it that way. I haven't tried it yet (going to try it tonight)

I did most of that repair. I forgot to tape off for the reinstall, which just made it a little harder to align. The other issue I ran in to is after you remove all the goo from the seal, I forgot to remove the spot on each sidewhere the plastic channel guides set. If you do not remove these two side spots it will be a hair off on reinstall. I did not remove them since they are had as a rock. I used a bar stool with a thick pad to hold the hatch up. Once the spoiler, and metal peice are removed the hatch is pretty light.

I just finished up aligning the hatch using the second method I mentioned. It's still not fully aligned, but it's less than 1/8th of an inch. I'll have to do the first method sometime during the week to get it completely flush.

im removing the trunk lid for paint but it is wayyyy out of wack right now and i was just seeing if ther was a good safe way to remove that peice and how to put it back on. thanks for the help!
