oh no! rims
last year i paid to have my berlinetta rims refinished and couldnt have been happeir with them. however im a dumbass and i drove them in the snow and the salt made the new finish flake and stain. thats ok there was a 1 year warranty. took them in yesterday and they said no problem, they would have them done by next week.
i got a call today, they cant be reground, as the metal is too thin on them from the last time, design problem in the rim bla bla bla. they can only paint it one solid colour. i asked about leaving the center gold and painting the spokes and outer lip silver. nope no definate line he said.
im at a loss for a decision. the berlinetta rims are gorgeous when they were refinished before the salt stained them. what would you do? find another set of berlinetta rims (which i cant afford right now) and see if they will refinish those? or would you get them done all gold? i have a set of z28 rims but i doubt they would do them for free instead...

I would have the Berly rims done in solid gold. Could they possibly paint the spokes silver where the machined face should be?
Long term: Find another set of Berly rims, and have them done correctly.
Winter: use your Z-rims.

yes the z28s should definatly been used in the winter....
anyway i was thinking about this at work.
as i would love to have another set of berly rims done correctly and most likley will when i have the cash, that doesnt make much sence to have an all gold set now.plus they were spraybombed gold when i got the car and looked bland. see below
bland spraybombed
this is the set when i had them done last summer
this is the worst rim now after driving all winter
ok now im thinking i need an opinion on this.
the berlinettas all came with GM Charcoal Metalic paint on the bottom all the way around the car, the headlight buckets, and 3 nostril slats, and a stripe in the middle of the back bumper were also painted this colour. i was thinking maybe i should do the set of rims in this same GM Charcoal colour. what you think?
