Smooth lower door sills
I was wondering if there were anyway to fill the door sills and get rid of the crosshatch pattern. Also, I'm doing this on a black door sill, so I need to know what I can paint it with when I'm done so it looks smooth.
TIA

I had thought about grinding down the hexagon pattern and making an insert out of aluminum or stainless steel. I'm not sure what would be best to fill it, perhaps a plastic epoxy

I have been thinking of making all new door sills out of fiberglass with the top layer being CF for looks. I dont like the stock plastic ones all that much, unfortunately I have never worked with anything like this and I dont really have time to do them......
